Water: Burnout and Resilience

Burnout=mental and physical exhaustion, coupled with a loss of meaning. It’s not just too much stress.  Resilience=the ability to bounce back from setbacks.

This section contains articles and reflections on burnout prevention and recovery, and on building resilience at work. It also includes my independent White Paper Series (2011-2013) on the psychological health of humanitarian professionals.

Relying on the testimonies of field and HQ staff, the papers inquire into the psychological needs of those professionals who work in highly stressful environments, looking at ways to develop an organisational culture that cares for its employees and values their contribution.
